Objective
Public School presents opportunities to try new things - and sports is one of them. Its a chance to learn and grow; win and lose. The foundations of sport - teamwork, commitment, the perseverance - are all life skills and a collective shared memory for so many friends. Currently, there are barriers to access. The costs associated with athletics are increasing and students are missing out.
In 2023, a community of like-minded sports crazed individuals came up the notion to host an event that supports sports. And so, Sparkle & Swagger was born.
All proceeds from the event will be support athletic activities across public schools in the Kawartha Lakes.
Sponsored by KL Hockey, a registered non-profit led by volunteers and a board of directors focused on enriching a players' hockey experience while giving back to the community through sport.
